Getting Free Newspaper Exposure for Your Business

22 August 2009 330 views No Comment

Imagine if instead of a newspaper requiring you to pay for advertising, they actually thanked you for advertising in their periodical and let you do it for free.

In fact, imagine that they gave you an entire column in which to build your credibility and talk about any aspect of business that you wanted. That would be great, wouldn’t it?

Of course it would. That kind of advertising is literally the kind of advertising that you cannot buy – because it is free!

Writing for a newspaper is a great way to get exposure for your business, build your credibility, and reach all the readers of the newspaper in a way that they may not be expecting since your promotions will not be in a traditional advertising format.

Of course, the idea of writing for a newspaper can be a bit intimidating. However, the advantages of having a weekly column in which you can write more or less whatever you cannot be denied.

A good writer can actually work subtle copywriting into a column so a reader gleans important information and entertainment from the column while at the same time realizing how important your personal expertise and service could be to them.

When you’re writing, remember that it’s more important to connect with your readers than to write in an elevated style or use a lot of elaborate punctuation.

You’ll soon find that if you “write what you know” about your business and your interests, then you’ll connect with your readers and your business activity will soon show good results.
